Science No Longer Necessary to Evolution

Evolution explained by abandoning science.

Quote:

Short of invoking a benevolent creator, many physicists see only one possible explanation: Our universe may be but one of perhaps infinitely many universes in an inconceivably vast multiverse. Most of those universes are barren, but some, like ours, have conditions suitable for life.

The idea is controversial. Critics say it doesn’t even qualify as a scientific theory because the existence of other universes cannot be proved or disproved. Advocates argue that, like it or not, the multiverse may well be the only viable nonreligious explanation for what is often called the “fine-tuning problem”—the baffling observation that the laws of the universe seem custom-tailored to favor the emergence of life.

  1. Advocates argue that, like it or not, the multiverse may well be the only viable non religious explanation for what is often called the “fine-tuning problem”—the baffling observation that the laws of the universe seem custom-tailored to favor the emergence of life.

    Those advocates are wrong. Twice.

Firstly, there is another viable non religious explanation for the alleged “fine-tuning problem”: Unknown causes. Even if we could cross out the multiverse idea, that doesn’t mean that God did it.

Secondly, it’s debatable as to how “finely-tuned” for life our universe actually is. I’ve never heard a “fine-tuning” argument that didn’t boil down to obfuscating the point by making a bizarre chain of probability claims and then shouting out ‘it must have been magic’.

So don’t think much of the advocates mentioned in your quote. They’re missing some essential points.

  2. Joel says:

It is speculated that more than 200 proteins are required to support any type of life. Why don’t evolutionist address the complexity of the production of a single protein let alone 200 of them? Why don’t they discuss the odds of DNA stands just coming together out of chance? They don’t do it because they know it is a statistical impossability.

Something else very interesting is many single celled and simple life forms have much more DNA than complex primates. Holding strictly to evolutionary theory that would not make sense because as life allegedly progresses it became more complex, but the evidence left in the nucleus points in the other direction. It does not add up.
